Churchill, Manitoba is the beluga whale capital of the world! Ice break-up in spring brings over 3,000 beluga whales to the Churchill River. The whales enjoy the summer months of July and August in the Churchill River where the river water is warmer than the ocean water and the whales are able to feed on crustaceans. Summer is the perfect time to visit Churchill and we offer exciting itineraries including beluga whale watching, snorkeling, kayaking, hiking, and area tours. The best way to experience magnificent summer wildlife including caribou, arctic fox, and ptarmigan is on an authentic Tundra Buggy®. The Buggy meanders over a system of established trails, stopping at leisure to enjoy the scenery, search for wildlife, and take photos of the lush flora of this subarctic region. As well, you'll have time to enjoy other attractions in Churchill such as the Eskimo Museum, Parks Canada Interpretive Centre and the town complex. Visitors can choose from a number of gift shops where souvenirs range from postcards to hand-made Inuit wall hangings and stone carvings. This tour offers a complete program, priced and packaged out of Winnipeg, our gateway city.
